Reclaim Your Zone of Genius Masterclass, part 2
Wednesday Jul 07, 2021
Wednesday Jul 07, 2021
This episode is part two of a two-part series dedicated to your reclaiming your Zone of Genius. You will hear a recording of an interactive masterclass I have done on the topic, including comments from some of the participants. Last week’s episode focused on the definition of the zone of genius and its characteristics, as well as introduced two practices that will help you find your Zone. The second part provides the third practice and suggests 10 strategies for you to stay in your Zone as much as possible.
For this episode, I would like you to pay attention to the ten strategies and decide which ones you will start implementing directly. You don’t need to implement them all at once, but don’t leave the scene of inspiration without an action.
In this episode you will hear about:
A practice that helps you find energy and time to redesign your life and to start living in your Zone
How to save time by cutting out unnecessary activities
My personal struggles and solutions for managing time
Simple strategies for you to stay in your Zone of Genius
You'll find a lot of value in this recording today and I hope you will take time to put the exercises we talk about into action and use the suggested 10 strategies.
ATTENTION: our Genius Team are taking a summer break. We'd love to thank you for being with us over the spring term and are looking forward to bringing more valuable content to you when we are back in August!

Are Introverted Leaders Like Unicorns? - with Tad Lusk
Wednesday Jun 23, 2021
Wednesday Jun 23, 2021
Ted Lusk is a licensed professional counselor, personal transformation coach, musician, and entrepreneur. He has over 10 years of experience in mental health, personal growth, and development. He also has many years of experience in musical performance and coaching. Those interests are a quite fun and unique mix that helps Ted have a deep love for inspiring and empowering people to break free from internal limitations, share their gifts and live their best lives. The Genius Leadership podcast is still looking at the topic of knowing yourself, and Ted has an unusual focus in working with leaders: introverted entrepreneurs.
In leadership and entrepreneurial positions, people often need to promote themselves and their business, and be the face of their organization. This can be challenging for leaders with introverted personalities But it doesn’t have to be that way. And this is what our conversation revolved around.
In this conversation you will hear about:
Typical traits of introverts
Introvert-extravert scale and continuum
Challenges more introverted people face being in the leadership positions
Tools for being a good leader and entrepreneur when you are an introvert
Traits that are more typical for introverts and simultaneously are traits of good leaders
Finding the ways to navigate the introverted part of yourself
Signals to identify that you are not taking good care of your innate needs
This conversation is full of personal examples, reflections, self-care, and ways of asking for help. I hope this conversation will make it easier for you to support those around you who are introverted or get the support you need on your own leadership journey.
Enjoy and stay Genius,
Anna

Unconscious Biases in Tech - with Mandy Sanghera
Wednesday Jun 16, 2021
Wednesday Jun 16, 2021
The series of the podcast about learning yourself continues, and the guest of this podcast is a great woman Mandy Sanghera. Mandy is an award-winning philanthropist who has been working on human rights for over three decades. She has a generous amount of world TV appearances, and public speaking engagements, and last year she participated in the US House of Representatives for the third year in a row. She's well known and very acknowledged in the area among global leaders and has helped hundreds of individuals in person. This help is now reaching thousands of people through social media, covering the topics of human rights, forced marriages for both kids and people with disabilities, and a lot of other topics that are very important and close to the heart of many people. Unlike many others, Mandy takes action and does it in a very direct way.
What she has to say is always very compassionate and inspirational, and isn’t hidden under tons of fluff. I hope our conversation will give you the right kind of energy and power to help you go out and take this one tiny step to start creating these ripple effects that together with the ripple effects of others will make an impact in the world.
In this conversation you will hear about:
How can you learn and become aware of the things you don’t know that you don’t know
AI for social good and technological solutions of unconscious bias
Working for the cause and not for the applause
Sending the “elevator” back to people when you have climbed the ladder: making the path for others easier than it was for you
Benefits of mentoring and tips on doing it
Looking for the solutions that everyone can contribute to
I hope this conversation will give you some practical tools on how to think, where to look for unconscious bias, how to invite a different kind of conversation in your life, how to embrace diversity and really enjoy it and learn from it in a good way that helps you, your product development, your service development, and generally motivates you to keep evolving.

Motion Is Not Progress - with Petri Kajander
Wednesday Jun 09, 2021
Wednesday Jun 09, 2021
Petri Kajander is the definition of a business artist, a person who makes the magic happen in business. Although Petri would prefer to not put labels on people, it's inevitable to explain who the person is without some of them. Petri’s mission is to empower individuals to create an inspiring global humane society. He is passionate about building the future with cross-growth companies, and he's usually helping founders to make better decisions in a fast, efficient, and fun way. And that work brings new ideas, new customers, partners, funding, and higher valuation, and a burning successful grant growth of companies that are at the scaling phase in their life cycle.
I decided to invite Petri to the podcast because, when we first connected, he mentioned that his mind has always been silent. A lot of leaders ask me how to get there, so during this podcast we tried to get in Petri’s mind and learn how to have space for ourselves to reflect, to be, and to make this a natural state. In this conversation you will hear about:
How to clear your mind and create silence in your head
What does such silence give us
Leadership as creating the mission, defining the values and taking action based on them
The power and ways of saying no (and exercise from me to practice that)
Different views on planning of our lives and approaches to scheduling the day
Petri also gave three tips for success: being curious, being humble, and being a good listener. And then he asked for permission to add the fourth one, which is having fun.
So have fun and enjoy the ride of this conversation!

Unleashing the Inner CEO - with Jeremy Blain
Wednesday Jun 02, 2021
Wednesday Jun 02, 2021
Jeremy Blain is an award-winning Business Leader, Futurist, New Era Learning Professional, Author & Conference Speaker. Jeremy is the founder and CEO of Performance Works International (PWI). He has created PWI because he knows that his experience, knowledge, and passion can help organizations and individuals face the changing workplace and help them be fit and ready for the future. Recently he released a book called “The Inner CEO – Unleashing Leaders at All Levels”. In this book, he talks about people who can be the CEOs of their own life and their role within the organization, independently of which level they're on.
Jeremy is teaching organizations how to survive in the time of the transformation that we all have to go through. Those transformations existed even before COVID, but the pandemic just made things clearer where the transformations have to happen.
This conversation revolves around the fact that people often complain about lack of time. Jeremy is talking that having people on your team who want to take up the role of Inner CEO really gets that necessary time for the leaders. So when you succeed with creating the culture, when everyone can step into that Inner CEO role, you are getting back your time as a leader. And time, as we all know, is the most valuable resource these days.
In this conversation you will hear about:
Two sides of the coin: leading others and leading ourselves
Why it's important to first build the organizational structure and then empower people to take the responsibility and initiative
The usual flaws in the organizations normally being not in the strategy definition but in the strategy implementation
The need of transition from diversity and inclusion to representation and belonging
Is it okay to have people on the team who don’t want to take a CEO role?
I hope this conversation will help you to get out of the firefighter mode, and change the culture in your organization so that you have more time for yourself.

Knowing Thyself - Solo
Wednesday May 26, 2021
Wednesday May 26, 2021
This week’s episode is quite different from the typical podcast that you are used to listening to every week. Part of my job as a coach is to help people get out of their comfort zone and explore what new horizons might wait for them out there. The same thing concerns me and my show. I love working with people and taking interviews, but this week I decided to step out of my comfort zone and create a solo podcast, in which I will express my own opinion on the topic. It’s quite different and a bit scary, because I’m not getting the usual feedback from the other side, I’m just sitting here in front of the mike trying to get my message through and make it engaging for you, my audience. So, please, let me know what you think about such types of podcasts and whether I should do them more often!
The reason why I decided to try something new is that I want to create a sort of “season” of podcasts or a group of podcasts that will be concerning the same topic connected to leadership, and discuss it from different perspectives. I will record a solo podcast expressing my own opinion about the matter and then invite 4 guests with whom we will discuss this very same topic, to hear how their opinions on the matter differ. In such a way, I hope that you will be able to dive deeper into the conversation and get diverse perspectives, hear my guests coming from different backgrounds and sharing various opinions. And the first topic that will be discussed in this series is knowing yourself.
In this episode I will share:
Why knowing yourself is so important for leadership
How to be fully present to others
The importance of being honest with yourself and others
How knowing yourself helps relieve the stress
Who will be our next speakers on the topic of knowing yourself and what we will talk about
I hope you enjoy the new format and find a lot of useful information in this and coming episodes.

The Helix of Success - with Roelof Vuurboom
Wednesday May 19, 2021
Wednesday May 19, 2021
Roelof Vuurboom has been actively involved in the IT industry for the past 40 years, working with large and small companies, product development and business development, business management, and sales. Roelof always liked to share his knowledge and experience with others, and recently he decided that he wants to do so through mentoring startup founders.
When we connected with Roelof, I found his content very valuable and when we started talking, we realized very soon that we have similar goals and values in our mentoring, but vastly different approaches for it. So Roelof and I started a community called Helix of Success - a free online space where you can always find value, thought-provoking content, and people willing to create an impact in the world around them.
This is a community where we want to gather people who share a passion with us and would like to nurture it further. We want everyone to have a possibility to continuously explore themselves and the world around, and share their learnings and findings with others. So please, join us and enjoy your personal growth!
This conversation ended up being very lively, and both Roelof and I managed to share a lot of our visions, goals and approaches to success, so I hope you will find it interesting!
In this conversation you will hear about:
The full story of the creation of Helix of Success
What you can get out of participation in Helix of Success
Roelof’s personal story
How to keep the motivation and invest it in the things you really need
How to figure out what is that you are looking for and connect the necessary dots

Homework for Entrepreneurs - with Fredrik Grahn
Wednesday May 12, 2021
Wednesday May 12, 2021
Fredrik Grahn is a serial entrepreneur, and now he's working on his third company Pyzzle it. This company was started by Fredrik’s wife and now he took over it to keep the great idea growing when Therese went on for other career challenges. Fredrik is my client, and this conversation is interesting since it doesn’t fall under the typical format that my show takes.
I started working with Fredrik because I really liked his approach to life and to entrepreneurship, and one of his main concentrations in work with me is self-care since he's already burned himself a bit with the previous businesses when it comes to it. Fredrik’s work on his lifestyle, mental and physical health is very intentional, and I'm happy to be supporting him on that journey. In this conversation you will hear about:
Reminders about the learning journey of entrepreneurship
The lonely journey to entrepreneurship
How important it is to have someone to brainstorm with, to get reminded about things that you need to focus on, and to prioritize
Energy budget exercise to scale down if one is overly ambitious (I know, you probably don’t relate to being “overly ambitious”. Just do this exercise and see yourself!)
Homework that can be fun, and people who can give you tasks to work on yourself
Going back to basics for the sake of our health
Peeling away some layers of your ambitions to stay sustainable
Importance of saying “no”
The full version of the song you hear on his show, with links to translation
I hope you will get some sunny vibes and some super positive energy from listening to the song, watching its video, and reading the lyrics!

Navigating Uncommon Sense in Unusual Times - with Csaba Toth
Wednesday May 05, 2021
Wednesday May 05, 2021
Csaba Toth is Hungarian and he has been living in the UK for quite a long time now. Csaba’s journey to a deeper understanding of what leaders need started when he lost his first business.
Back then he thought that speaking the same language, common sense, lots of qualifications and good intention were enough to lead people and to serve them, but despite all that there were misunderstandings with his co-founder, which resulted in Csaba losing his business. This led to his realization that most leaders and entrepreneurs were struggling with the same problems. So he committed himself to finding the solutions to the problems that he has suffered from, and that he has seen other people being affected by. As a result Csaba spent 15 years to create the blueprint for why people think and behave differently.
This blueprint is called Global DISC™. It combines the practicality of the DISCmodel with the deep psychological insights of global mindset to bring out the best in leaders and their teams without having to heavily invest time and money in learning the tool, implementing it in their workplace and learning how to live by it on a daily basis. The tool is popular mainly due to the practicality of these programs which are easy and fun to use. Its value has been seen and utilized by Fortune 500 companies and national governments.
In this conversation you will hear about:
A small reframe that can make a big impact in your attitude towards change - in an organization or on a personal level
Meaning of the words that we're using and their impact
Applying the mind shift in the area which you would like to improve
The danger of the comfort zone
Leveling up vs. staying on the same level as the human being
Pros and cons of having a coach, how to look for one and how to choose the best fit for you
Cognitive diversity and the motivations for it
There are a lot more golden nuggets in this interview which could go on for hours, sotune in and elevate your mindset right now!Enjoy and stay Genius,
Anna
