Building a Lifestyle Business Is Underrated - with Hjörtur Hilmarsson
The term "lifestyle business" has gotten a bad reputation recently, with many picturing a lazy/unambitious person who does not really want to put much effort into their work, yet still expecting wealth. But what if we look at the original meaning of this term? How do people build businesses that fit well into their lifestyles? Does "lifestyle" have to mean lying on the beach and drinking pina colladas all day long? Can you still be ambitious and produce great results for your clients and society?
I invited Hjörtur Hilmarsson, co-founder and CEO of the creative design and technology studio 14islands, to discuss his view on the lifestyle business.
In this episode, you will hear about:
- why Hjörtur and his two friends decided to start their own studio
- defining the company culture way before it starts growing
- the interplay of company, culture, and personal evolutions
- co-founder agreement
- Hjörtur's habits and tools that bring him back to a grounded state
Stay safe and #standwithukraine,
Anna
